Do older Americans expect they will personally need long-term care for themselves in the future?

A majority of adults age 40 and older who aren’t currently receiving long-term care say it is at least somewhat likely they will need care someday. These rates have been consistent over the years. More than 70 percent of Americans age 65 and older eventually need at least three years of long-term care.¹
