Most Americans age 40 and older expect to provide care to a loved one in the next five years.

A majority of Americans age 40 and older who aren’t currently providing care say it is at least somewhat likely that a close friend or family member will need long-term care in the next five years. A majority of care in America is provided by family and close friends.¹
